Rehearsing in Central Park

So, today we did a bit of rehearsing with my dance company in Central Park. I'm a part of Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company and we have a gig in Rochester on the 9th July. For it we're performing on a lawn, so how better to practice then in the park. Was soooooo hot though-it was a killer! Here's Daniel-the director and Stacey practicing, hopefully some more pictures to follow!:

Fire escape!!

Well, I've found a way to be at home and be outside!! The good old fire escape. So NY I love it, but I did nearly have a hear attack the first time I stepped out on it-literally two hours ago!! But the view is great-I'm on the top floor.

My bedroom window to the fire escape!

Hanging on for dear life! It was wobbly, not gonna lie!

Looking down.

The beautiful view-yes in Brooklyn!!

Recording at Smash Studios

Yesterday I got to be a part of a demo for a new Off-Broadway musical called Yeast Nation. Written by the writers of Urine Town-if any of you are familiar with that! I got to the final for the audition but didn't get the part in the end.......but I did get to sing for the demo. It was a crazy experience-we learnt the harmonies in literally an hour for 3 songs 2 days before and then recorded yesterday. So glad my roomate had a recorder for me to borrow or I would have been *!%$**!!!!!! It was a fun few hours and good to get back singing!

Settling in!

So, I've finally settled in to NYC! Can't believe it's been nearly 2 months already, nuts! I have an apartment in Brooklyn in an area called Bed-Stuy. It's really cool, still a little ghetto which is why I love it and not too crowded like Manhattan can get. It feels like the heart of NYC here. My apartment is great. I share with a fellow Londoner called Myriam. I did my first few gigs the first 2 weeks I got here. One was a gig at a University and the other was a choreographer's showcase. Both were so much fun and I met so many people that have already become good friends. Here's a link to the piece I did in the choreographer's showcase:
